1/1/2024 0 Comments Make military dog tagsThe standard issue ball chains are of 2.5 mm and the user can upgrade to a 3mm ball chain. One tag is hung on a long ball chain about 24 inches in length and the other tag is hung on to the long chain using a small ball chain measuring about 4.5 inches length. The American dog tags have two separate plates. These plates can be separate, like the American tags, or made as a single tag, like the Canadian tags, which can be broken into two when required. A typical military dog tag set has two plates measuring 1 inch x 2 inches, with identical information on both the tags. Tags are also available in brass and copper which patinate when exposed to air. The mil-spec tags are made up of T304 stainless steel which has 18% chromium and 8% nickel to prevent corrosion. What are dog tags made up of?ĭog tags are made of corrosion resistant metal like stainless steel or aluminium. It is derived from the term "hundemarken" which was similar to the tag that each dog in the then Prussian capital of Berlin required to wear, after their owner paid the license fee. The term ‘dog tags’, with reference to military tags, comes from the Prussian Army in 1870. Therefore, if you are looking for a tag for your pet then, the appropriate term is ‘pet tags’ and not ‘dog tags’. Military identification tags are called as dog tags since it resembles the tags used by pet owners. With advancement in technology, the problem of identifying the dead has been solved by using DNA sampling. Today dog tags are only the first level of identification in the battlefield. Shortly before World War I the tags became a part of the army field kit. In early twentieth century the tags were officially introduced in the form of a round disk stamped with a soldier’s name, number, company and regiment. After the Spanish-American war of 1899 an official request was made to introduce an identity disk. Later, vendors who followed the armies supplied engraved metal tags. Marking on clothes, pinning paper tags on the shirts, using old coins, carving chunks of wood and stringing around the neck were some of the earliest attempts of identification. The soldiers were terrified of being buried in unmarked graves and found some improvised ways to overcome this problem. The inability to identify some of the dead soldiers created a need for an identification tag that could withstand harsh battle conditions and resistant to corrosion. The identification tags first surfaced during the American civil war. For a simple understanding of dog tags and its uses you can take a look at this video. In India, the term ‘dog tags’ is often confused with pet tags that are used on animals. They are issued to soldiers as a replacement for plastic ID cards because of their resistance to harsh battle conditions and durability. These tags are used in the identification of the dead and wounded in the battlefield. Dog tag refers to a type of military identification tags worn by soldiers during war. 1/1/2024 0 Comments Sudoku games hard# we didn't find any solution given the current board status # return False to notify upper recursive solve_helper that # if we are here, it means we have tried all values in this cell without finding a solution # then clear cell to return the board to the status before x was filled # so we can skip further processing if 2 solutions have been found # the problem requires us raise error if there are more than one solution, # then try to solve from the next cell k+1, # fill the cell with value x only if x has not appeared on the same row or col or 3x3 box # try to fill each value from 1 to 9 in this cell # if this cell has been filled, go on to solve the next cell # return True to notify that we have found a solution # if we get pass the last cell, it means we have filled every cells with valid values. # k is the cell index, counting from left to right and top to bottom. # given the sudoku has been filled up to cell k-1, try to solve the sudoku from cell k # recursively solve the sudoku, starting from cell 0 # init a blank board with all cells filled with zero The sample code goes as below: import copy The first thing that we want to try is of course reusing the solution from the last challenge, with some modifications to fit the new additional requirements. Unlike the previous logo, this one is more dynamic. They could not find a replacement for him: fans immediately rejected the only new option proposed for consideration in 2002 as unsuccessful.īuffalo Bills emblem depicted the blue bison – as schematic and minimalistic as in the version of 1970. The author of the logo has always been proud of it, and it is not surprising: it was created back in 1974 but is still used by the team today. Team general manager Robert Lustig responded with a letter in which he expressed a strong preference for the design that ultimately would become the charging Buffalo. Stevens Wright submitted several designs to the Bills in the summer of 1973. Boss promptly gave Stevens a plum assignment: creating a new logo for the Bills. Jere brought her husband’s talents to the attention of David Boss, who was the director of NFL Properties’ creative services division at the time. His wife Jere Wright was a production manager for NFL Properties, the group that handled all of the league’s licensing and branding. The present Buffalo Bills logo was created by an aerospace designer and commercial illustrator, Stevens Wright. Fans were opposed to these changes, so the franchise went back to the version of 1974. A stylized letter “B” (stands for Buffalo Bills) in the lower-left corner, consisted of one red bullet and one blue bullet. It was created in 2002 when general manager Tom Donahoe decided to change the players’ uniform and logo. Granularity is low, and there are no outlines. They kept only the red Buffalo – the one on the helmet in the last version of the Buffalo Bills emblem. They removed the balls and football players. 1970 – 1973ĭesigners changed the initial concept in 1970. Wordmark “Buffalo Bills” is gone: it’s only the distinctive outfit that marks belonging to the franchise. There is a white helmet with a red cross stripe and an image of Buffalo on his head. The logo now features a brown buffalo in grainy sepia and a football player with 31 on his blue and white shirt. The developers made the ball the background again. The second version of the Buffalo Bills logo is similar to the first one. A white wordmark “BUFFALO BILLS” in block letters is on top. The logo depicts a herd of buffaloes and two football players in Buffalo Bills uniform of that time. It’s used as a background for the other elements. The central image of the Buffalo Bills logo is a blue football. They bought the franchise for $1.4 billion on October 10. Terrence Pegula and his wife Kim became the owners of the football club. He earned the nickname by killing 4,280 buffaloes in eighteen months. The old team with the same name was named after the popular quartet Buffalo Bills, which was named after the showman and hunter William Frederick Cody. He chose Buffalo – attorney Paul Crotty negotiated a sweetheart deal with Civic Stadium in Buffalo, offering Wilson full control of the venue and a deep discount on rent.įans wanted to name the new franchise after the former AAFC Bills that merged into the Cleveland Browns in 1950. Lamar Hunt, the founder of AFL, offered him to join the major league and gave him a list of 6 cities. It began to play as an American Football League franchise in 1960, but the club joined the National Football League as a result of the AFL-NFL merger for the 1970 season. In 1970 the AFL merged with the NFL, this time the Bills were included in what would become the American Football Conference where they still play to this day.Buffalo Bills is a professional American football team, which competes in the American Football Conference East division. A decade later Buffalo was awarded a franchise in the new American Football League with team owner Ralph Wilson announcing on Novemthat they would be carrying-on the Buffalo Bills name as a nod to the old AAFC club. The original Bills folded in 1950 after they were the only club from the AAFC to not be included in its merger with the NFL. Cody got the "Buffalo Bill" nickname while as a contractor to provide buffalo meat for railroad employees Cody is estimated to have hunted 4000 buffalo during his year-long stint working with the roadroad. The name "Bills" is in homage to William "Buffalo Bill" Cody, a 19th century entertainer who became famous for his travelling Wild West shows. Local Merchant Marine James Dyson was credited with submitting the name and received $500 as the top prize. With two other teams in Buffalo already using the "Bisons" name the team held a name-the-team contest in first-half of 1947 with the winning name "Bills" was announced on June 16, 1947. To trace the origins of the Buffalo Bills name you have to go back a decade or so before the team began play to the old Buffalo Bisons of the All-American Football Conference. While the turn-based combat does give you a chance to plan your strategies, after a while it just feels frustratingly slow and tedious, as does constantly tapping to search your surroundings for items. This final installment was their chance to wow us with something new, and instead Avernum 6 barely tries anything different at all. What's actually disappointing is the lack of evolution the series has displayed. They're teeming with angry enemies for us to beat expensive armor out of, and the last in the series is no slouch. The game is a top-down-and-to-the-side view RPG, and while it offers a big heaping helping of customiseable keyboard shortcuts that may be intimidating, most of the game is played simply by pointing and clicking. You have a main quest you're supposed to be doing, but chances are you'll forget what it is because you'll get distracted by some sort of glowing mystical doo-dad on the horizon and wind up embroiled in a bunch of dungeon crawling for hours before you remember that maybe you should get on that whole "world saving thing". You strike out into the world with your party of four customiseable heroes, save a lot because you'll die a whole bunch, and engage in turn-based strategic combat with flea-ridden unicorns in between trying to pawn off the various household objects you nick from other people. No worries, bub this gig is strictly "no experience necessary". and luckily for Avernum, you might know just where to find them. It wasn’t until the next time I wanted to legitimately use the hotspot that I discovered the hotspot was disabled. Since I was already faced with paying a penalty for exceeding my data limit, and this was the second time it had happened, when Verizon offered me an unlimited data plan, I thought that would solve this weird problem. I don’t know why it would do this, but it was the second time iTunes has done this when downloading an iOS update. As a result I exceeded my monthly Verizon data limit. Now, even though the MBP was connected to the Internet via an ethernet connection to Comcast, for some reason iTunes decided to automatically turn on the hotspot and do the download through the hotspot instead of Comcast. The irony of this situation is that, when I was upgrading my iPhone to 14.0.1, it was plugged into my MBP and iTunes was managing the update (this is because I like to do a local backup of the iOS device before upgrading in case I want to revert). If you’re still on iOS 13, iPadOS 13, watchOS 6, or tvOS 13, we recommend holding out for another few weeks to let things continue to settle down and so developers can release updated versions of their apps. Otherwise, it’s worth waiting a day or two to see if any unexpected side effects crop up. If you’ve already installed the major updates and you’re experiencing any of these issues, you should update right away. Outside of the four security issues addressed in macOS 10.15.7, none of these updates has published CVE security notes. (There had been some complaints about tvOS not recognizing the Siri Remote.) It’s usually best to update it at night, although this update’s small size means it shouldn’t take too long.įinally, Apple also quietly pushed out tvOS 14.0.1 with “general performance and stability improvements.” Install it on your Apple TV HD or Apple TV 4K in Settings > System > Software Updates, or just let it install on its own sometime if you’re not noticing any problems.
